Announcement - Booking into spring of 2010

This is just a quick note to let all my clients, gift certificate holders, and potential clients know that I am no longer booking sessions in 2009. I will start taking bookings in the new year for the spring of 2010.

Jasmine is due to have a little baby boy any day now! We met up at the University of Alberta for a photo shoot last month. Jasmine was a total trooper (we did a fair amount of walking!) and we got some beautiful shots that I hope she'll cherish for years to come.

Sharisse and Kevin are going to have a baby! She's due any day now, and I'm sure she's counting down the days until her little one arrives. Even though they know whether they're having a girl or a boy (and I know too!), I'm not allowed to share... because it's still a surprise for some people!

Memphis | Edmonton Child Photography

I met Memphis and her parents on a sunny Saturday morning to take some photographs, just because! And although Memphis wasn't entirely sure about me and my big camera at first, in the end she loosened up and we were able to get some very smiley photos of her.

Logan | Edmonton Baby Photography

Stacey and Tuan were hoping to take some outdoor springy photos of their handsome baby boy Logan... but in typical Edmonton fashion, it started raining right when we were scheduled to do our session!

Despite the unpredictable weather, we were able to have a wonderful session inside. And we even managed to sneak outside for a picture or two, after the rain stopped and the sun came out to shine.

Enjoy the pictures of Logan - he was a wonderfully easygoing baby to work with, I promise, and it shows in his pictures!

Announcement | May and June 2008 Vacation

Just to let all my clients know, I am going to be away on vacation or out-of-town for basically the of the rest of May and also the first week of June.

I am currently booking portrait sessions into the end of June and early July. I won't have reliable email access while I'm away, but I *promise* I will respond to emails received over the next couple of weeks by May 27th. If you haven't heard back from me by then, please re-send your email... because sometimes technology fails!

Moran Family | Edmonton Family Photographer

Can I just share how much I LOVED taking family portraits of the Moran family? Not only are they a very photogenic family (I mean seriously, how CUTE is their daughter Morgandy?), but we had lots of fun too. I actually had trouble narrowing down my favorites for this blog post! I'm just glad we were able to squeeze in a photo session before they move out of town later this month.

Burak Family | Edmonton Family Photographer

Ahhhh, spring in Edmonton! It can be very unpredictable. The first day I was supposed to meet the Burak family for some photos, there was a hail storm. But we met up anyways and took some indoor photos. While I was able to get some good coupley pictures of Darrell and Darra, Bex was not at all interested in taking photos that day.

So, we were able to get together the next weekend, in a more relaxed place... a playground! Bex and his brother Dennon played around in the park, and I was their shadow, which means for some more laidback, fun photos.

Keira | Edmonton Baby Photographer

You may remember some maternity photos that I did for Brian and Karin, who live in Calgary. Well, they were up for a visit to Edmonton and I managed to snap a few quick ones of their beautiful baby girl, Keira... who is soon turning one!!

Wedding Photography Seminar | Edmonton Wedding Photography

Photography is a continual learning experience. Once you think you've figured out one thing, you realize that there's 10 more things to learn! So it's really important for photographers to take some sort of continuing education to keep improving their photography skills. Which, in the end, translates to better photographs for YOU, the client!

To that end, I recently attended a Wedding Photography Seminar at NAIT that was put on by the Alberta chapter of the Professional Photographers of Canada. The speakers were the crazy-insane-talented-and-inspirational Jesh De Rox and Rob & Lauren.

All I can say is... WOW. I learned so much and I left so very inspired!



I am still booking 2009 weddings, so if you're recently engaged (congrats!) or scrambling to try to find a photographer for your wedding, drop me a line. I have a print portfolio that you can take a look at. My packages start at $650 for "Vegas" style coverage. In fact, all my packages are priced very reasonably for the Edmonton market, because I'm trying to build up my portfolio. Right now, I'm mostly second shooting weddings, but I'm more than ready to shoot yours!!

Jasmine wanted to take some boudoir photos to show off the results from all her hard work at the gym!

So she came over to my in-home studio for an afternoon and we had a really great time trying out all sorts of different poses (some of which didn't exactly work, like when I asked her to yell out "RAWR!"). We were going for more of a pin-up feel than a classic boudoir shoot, and I think we got a good mix of both.

As part of their celebrations for Chinese New Year, this {large!} family decided to have some formal portraits done. Being that they had family visiting all the way from Scotland, the timing couldn't be better!

Maziarz Family | Edmonton Family Photographer

One of my last photo shoots before Christmas happens to be of the shockingly {in a good way, I promise} gorgeous Maziarz family. I've known Sally for a while now, and met her hubby Roman once before, but it was great to finally meet her kidlets - son Mackenzie and daughter Sydney - after hearing so much about them.

Of course, it's Christmas, so we had to get a few photos in front of the tree.

And then outside for some serious {and not so serious} photos...

Van Leenen Family | Edmonton Family & Maternity Photographer

Remember my friend Kirsten? To celebrate her impending bundle of joy, and Mattayus' second birthday, Kirsten and hubby David asked me to come over and take some family and maternity portraits.

Kirsten is in her final trimester and new baby Van Leenen is due to arrive in less than one month. She and David don't know what they're having, so it's a big surprise ... I'm dying from curiosity!

(And I cannot get over how different Mattayus looks from his last photo shoot in March! He totally grew up - a "little man" for sure!)

It's amazing how much energy two young brothers can have! Nathanial and Ryan's little baby sister, Leigha, is going to have lots of fun playing with them when she gets older! Right now, she's more focused on learning how to crawl and being generally cute. *wink*

Even though Nathanial and Ryan were typical little boys and not completely into our photo session last weekend, they were good sports and gave me just enough to work with. I hope you kiddos like looking at your photos - if not, I know your Mom will!!
